Here are some questions to help decide what style to lean toward.

  • Do you play now? Just starting or ready to take a bigger step?
  • What style of playing is your main desire?  Clawhammer or 3 finger?
  • What “sound” do you like inside of that playing style?
  • Is this an instrument that you expect to stay in your family? If not, you may want to consider more traditional inlays than personal ones.
  • And of course, what is your budget?
